A sunburn is a burn to living tissue, such as skin, which is produced by overexposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation, commonly from the sun's rays. Usual mild symptoms in humans and animals include red or reddish skin that is hot to the touch, general fatigue, and mild dizziness. An excess of UV radiation can be life-threatening in extreme cases. Exposure of the skin to lesser amounts of UV radiation will often produce a suntan. more info, please refer to wikipedia.
Sunburn results from too much sun or sun-equivalent exposure. Almost everyone has been sunburned or will become sunburned at some time. Anyone who visits a beach, goes fishing, works in the yard, or simply is out in the sun can get sunburn. Improper tanning bed use is also a source of sunburn. Although seldom fatal (sun poisoning), sunburn can be disabling and cause quite a bit of discomfort.
Sunburn Causes
Sunburn is literally a burn on your skin. It is a burn from ultraviolet (UV) radiation. The consequence of this burn is inflammation of the skin. Injury can start within 30 minutes of exposure.
- UVA and UVB refer to different wavelengths in the light spectrum. UVB is more damaging to the skin especially for skin cancer. Both UVA and UVB are responsible for photoaging (premature aging of the skin and wrinkles) and sunburn. Tanning beds produce both UVA and UVB rays.
- Travel to the southern United States, regions close to the equator, and places at high altitudes all offer the unwary visitor an opportunity to be injured by sunburn.
- Certain light-skinned and fair-haired people are at greater risk of sunburn injury.
- Prior recent sun exposure and prior skin injury are risks for sunburn, even in limited exposure to the sun. However, normal limited exposure to UV radiation produces beneficial vitamin D in the skin.

kenapa aku tiba2 cerita pasal sunburn ni?? sebabnya hari tu kan aku pergi family day keluarga besar bonda, pastu salah seorang pakcik aku ni dok claim kata aku tak berendam dalam air laut tu pasal muka aku tak sunburn. ye laaa... kalau berendam dalam air laut, selalunya kulit muka dah tak rupa muka sendiri. kebetulan masa tu aku memang tak berendam lama sangat dalam air laut tu, adalah dalam sejam lebih. tu pun masa matahari yang memancar itu baik untuk kulit atau lebih tepat ada Vit D [betul kan] yang baik untuk kulit. kalau tengahari2 buta panas merembang tu memang confirm2 aku tak berendam. petang pun sama sebab air pasang. aku tak reti berenang okey??? dan kebetulan juga kulit aku ni bukan jenis yang senang2 boleh kena sunburn. kiranya kalau zaman sekolah dulu, kalau masa hari sukan berjemur tengah panas pun kulit aku maintian warna asli [=p] cuma kadang2 tu ada gak aku rasa gatal2 macam rimas. maybe sebab peluh. tapi yang membuatkan aku kurang suka berjemur tengah panas adalah sebab aku ni jenis senang sakit pale a.k.a maigrain. jadi seboleh2nya memang aku avoid berjemur lama2 bawah UV light. okey la... panjang la explaination aku ni. apa2 pun, aku harap ada la sedikit ilmu yang aku boleh kongsi dengan reader semua. aku ni tak pandai sangat bahasa mat saleh, tu sebab aku C&P ayat2 yang aku paham je... hahahaha...
